The basic set was not much different from other armored suits, providing moderate protection to the wearer's body, legs and arms. Its design allowed to use an advanced components such as heavy clawed boots, bracers, and massive shoulder pads. Unlike military combat armor, it did not allow for the addition of heavy armor plates on the chest and back, so as not to restrict the wearer's movements.
